The French Marans club (of France) has an English button, so we can read along. It has loads of very useful info and tips on everything about the breed, including many important genetic facts.
For all (that seems so many out there now) breeders of the Marans in North America, it would only benefit you to read and learn all you can about them. This site gives more info then other Maran sites I have visited.
The Maran breed needs all the help it can get over here to insure consistency of type, color, plumage and egg and meat production.
Health and vigor speaks for itself.
With most all popular breeds, the popularity can harm the quality tremendously. Carefully select your breeding pens!
