I hatched out these two boys out back on Feb 4th, 2011
Putting them at 10 weeks old and just over 2 months, (more specific 69 days old.)

Not sure what to call them....or their feather pattern for that matter. Kinda like a Buff Barred almost.
The two boys are different, nothing else on my property comes close to these two, except for one hen who is much older, she is very similar in markings and coloration.

Tell me what you think....

What is an EU????.......... I heard of an EO before (Euskal Oiloa)
I thought they might be EO's at first but I am skeptical.

I have had some like that by crossing the Buff orpington and barred rock, maybe that is the case?

Nope.....

I know for a fact 100% that my Barred Rock Roo never breed with my Buffs. He wish he could the sly bugger, that Paleface gets everywhere but at my Buffs.

Time to do some digging around my Computer I know i have info on there hatch somewhere, other than the hatch date.
I am not saying they are EO's cause that would be incorrect of me, and if I am wrong and they are EO's then Cool, either way I LIKE Them a lot.

They are really something cool, that is for sure.

So I have a theory, I think I have solved the mystery of whom their Parents are.... What a Face

Believe it or not, these two boys accompanied by a little pullet, were all hatched out from eggs that came from my Red Sussex Cross hens. I recently sold them back in January to Arcticsun.
I had some eggs sitting limbo i forgot I had collected from the gals before they moved. There were only three and put them in the turner with other eggs I was planning on incubating. According to my notes, they were 6 days old, sitting at 58*F and 56%humidity.

So I now know what breed they are they are a mix of the Following birds

CR Roo on Red Sussex Cross hens.

Sgt Pepper = Columbian Plymouth Rock Rooster

Red Sussex Hen

Sgt Pepper and a few of his gals enjoying Corn on the Cob during a light rain shower...

Here are some of the different colorations we got from chicks we hatched from them.

and of course this dude

So needless to say, who knows what was in the bloodlines of those Red Sussex Cross hens I had, but I am loving the colors I am getting.

Cool roos and gorgeous birds, love the variation Johnny! I love that lemon or red barred. The EO boys are a little greyer but not far off. The red dude in the second last picture actually looks like the Gorria or Red EO too!

I will post some more pics up of some of the other offspring that has been created by the pairing.

This is fun, I like seeing what come from Cross breeding.
Don't get me wrong I LOVE my purebreeds as well.

Cheers!

The buff/white barring pattern is known as 'Lemon Cuckoo' in the UK

The black confuses matters though Laughing
