I am thinking about getting some meat rabbits just for personal use. I have or soon will have a family of 8 large eaters (4 boys with the oldest just coming into his teens) so have a few questions. How many rabbits would I need to keep? What breeds would be best? I am not looking at purebreds or anything special. I would like nice pelts as I plan to make moccasins and muckluks using the fur. What size pens would I need? I have never had anything to do with meat rabbits. I raised pets growing up, but nothing special as they were mixed breeds, that escaped into the wild and we had lots and lots of rabbits around the yard then!! LOL I would like as much info as you can give me on this adventure if it is something I plan to do. Just looking into it right now!
