It was not an easy week, last week.
However, we may not forget, also good things did happen... Very Happy

Just a couple hours before the lightning hit, we got a little filly, after 2 colts it's nice to get a filly as well! She has a few white spots, not a real "blanket", but my daughter thinks that she will turn out to be almost white, like her dad.

Despite the weather, power outages etc. I got a good hatch of Gold Laced Wyandotte chickens, thank you Hidden River!!!

And our Saint Bernard puppies are doing really well,
cute eh? Smile

But best of all, my sister-in-law gave birth to a healthy baby girl. cheers

What a special week it was for us.

There is nothing in the world that can lift a heavy heart like new babies. I am so happy for you that you have been blessed with a new baby girl in your family! Enjoy all your sweet little newborn creatures, Anna!

I have lots to be thankful for as well. I live at the end of a dirt road. The birds are noisy here and traffic is not. I don't miss the sirens from emergency vehicles on 13th Street or 16th Avenue in Lethbridge at all. We can sit on our deck and enjoy the peace and quiet without the need to have my hair combed or change clothes (have on occasion sat unclothed).

This topic was on my mine as I drove home through the back country from Sun Peaks last Sunday. We sell our extra eggs at the Farmers Market at Sun Peaks. They have a wonderful market along the village walkway. On Sunday we enjoyed music put on by a vendor's husband and a friend. They entertained for over 2 and a half hours. I don't know of any other place where you can enjoy great music, sell farm products and talk about chickens (cows, pigs, sheep too).
